Help and common questions
Answers to what users and association boards ask most often. Can't find the answer? Call 790 0505 or write to hallo@hladdu.is.
Getting started
How do I sign up on a charger?
Open portal.hladdu.is/p, find the charger by the name or number on its sticker and send an access request. We review it and get in touch. Already a user? Then sign in at Mínum hleðslum with your email address.
Do I need an app?
No. My charging is a website that works on every phone and computer, and you can put it on your home screen like an app. Instructions are on the page Hladdu.is on your phone.
My car does not support Autocharge. What then?
Then you get a charging card that you hold to the charger. Cards and Autocharge work side by side on the same charger, and everything is booked to the same payer. One payer can have more than one car and more than one card.
While charging
Charging does not start
- Make sure the cable is fully in, both in the car and in the charger.
- Check the car's settings: scheduled charging or a charge limit (say 80%) will keep charging from starting.
- Does the car charge with Autocharge? It has to be registered to you. With a card: hold the card to the reader.
- Unplug the cable, wait a few seconds and plug in again.
- Still nothing? Get in touch and tell us the charger's name (it is on the sticker): 790 0505 or hallo@hladdu.is.
The car charges slower than usual
Most likely more cars are charging at the same time. Load management then shares the power between the chargers so the supply copes, and each car gets full power back once the others are done. The car itself also slows down as the battery gets close to full.
Charging stopped before the car was full
Most often the car has reached a charge limit set in the car itself, say 80%. At some locations charging is only possible at certain hours. Charging on a prepaid card stops when the balance runs out, and for visitors when the purchased energy is used up.
Cards, visitors and payment
My card was lost or stolen
Tell us right away. We block the card on every charger, and the list of valid cards the chargers keep is updated too, so a blocked card does not work even on a charger that loses its internet connection. Use before you tell us counts as use of your account.
Charging without an account (visitors)
Scan the QR code on the charger, pick an amount (2,000, 5,000 or 10,000 kr.) and pay by card. The price per kilowatt hour is shown before you pay, and charging stops by itself when the purchased energy is used up. Whatever is not used is refunded or released to the same card. More in the terms (section 5).
How do I pay for charging?
The month's charging is settled afterwards by metered use, on an electronic invoice with a claim in your online bank. The invoice also carries a link for paying by card, and you can save a card in My charging. A saved card is never charged on a schedule, only for an invoice already issued.
What is a prepaid charging card?
A card topped up in advance, for example for guests or tenants. It can be topped up in My charging (5,000 or 10,000 kr.), charging is deducted from the balance, and the card closes by itself when the balance runs out.
For the association's board
What does the board see?
Supervisors see the location's chargers, live power, the month's usage and the cards by name or last four characters, but not who owns which card. Main supervisors also see the full charging history and can register cards and control the chargers. Each resident sees only their own charging.
What does the association get back?
Hladdu sells the electricity to users in its own name and each month pays the association back, by credit note, for what charging drew from the shared meter. The credit note has one line per card and comes with a breakdown, so the board can check it against each resident's use. The association never has to issue an invoice itself.
We already have chargers. Can you take them over?
Usually, yes. CTEK and DEFA chargers that speak OCPP we connect straight to our platform. For other makes: get in touch and we will look at them.
